Rifle Gap Reservoir is a 350 acre hidden gem located between Grand Junction and Glenwood Springs. It is only three hours west of Denver. It is home to a number of very healthy sport fish including Northern Pike, Smallmouth, Walleye, Rainbows, Brown Trout, and Perch. Fishing for all species can be phenomenal depending on the time of year but there is always a good bite at this reservoir. It is one of the only places in the state you can catch Northern Pike, Smallmouth Bass, Walleye, and Trout in the same day!
Designated camping is available.
Harvey Gap Reservoir is a 190 acre hidden gem located 10 min. east of Rifle Gap that is home to Northern Pike, Tiger Muskie, Smallmouth, Largemouth, Rainbow Trout, Perch, Bluegill, Crappie, and Catfish. It may be smaller than Rifle Gap, but it can produce some HUGE fish. The lake is known for it's beautiful turquoise color and it has also become a favorite locals destination for paddle boarding due to the motor and wake restrictions it has. Harvey is where we usually go for those, who are in search for BIG Pike or Tiger Muskie. Tiger muskies are scarce but there is always the possibility of hooking into an absolute monster. Largemouth and Smallmouth fishing can be very good there, as well as fishing for panfish.
No designated camping directly near the lake.
Ruedi Reservoir is a 1000 acre hidden gem nestled between Glenwood Springs and Aspen above the Frying Pan River. Ruedi is known for it's HUGE Lake Trout. Other species such as Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout, Kokanee Salmon and Perch can also be caught there. The Rainbow Trout are kept stocked at Ruedi and can be fairly easy to catch while the other species can be more challenging. Ruedi is known for the winds and waves picking up around noon, so most trips are scheduled to end by noon. If the winds don't pick up, you will have the option to stay longer if you want and make it into a Full-Day (7hrs.) Adventure. If you book a trip to Ruedi, we will meet at Frying Pan Anglers before we head up to the lake.
Designated camping is available.
Coulter Lake is a small high mountain lake nestled within the Flat Tops Wilderness area only 20 - 25min. from either Rifle or Harvey Gap. You can choose to stay on the ranch and go kayak fishing for Brook and Rainbow Trout or meet me at Harvey or Rifle Gap to fish other species. Multiple rustic cabins are available for anyone wanting to stay a night or a few nights in a remote private slice of heaven.
